The 8th Ave All Stars came together for this one event. It was an event at the band shell in Oleson Park put on by the Iowa Rock’ N Roll Music Association. Dean Davis, (drummer), Kris Karr (bass) and I got together four times at Kris’s store and learned some songs. I always wanted to play with Dean. I grew kind of idolizing him and the bands he played with...(especially West Minister) and finally got the chance.

Kris is a great song writer, drummer, guitar player, and it turns out, bass player. He’s also got great pipes that seem never to wear out.

We did “Shaky Ground” and then three of the songs from my last cd. We did a song Kris wrote called “She” which turned out very nice. I want to get them over to the Chubby Records basement and get that one recorded. Look for that coming up right here on this site, along with more songs and videos. Bottom line, it was a great time and I hope we can do it again. Who knows, I might even get comfortable again.
